The starting point when buying a new kitchen is planning it,
If you need a complete Kitchen design, build and installation service (Bespoke Kitchens) then Airco Builders offer you our complete solution, however we do have Kitchen Fitters on hand to install your kitchen if you have not used our complete service.
Unless you are building a new house or carrying out major renovations, there are some things you cannot change. The shape and the space available. Your aim is to make the best use of the available space for a kitchen that is easy to work in and meets the needs of your particular situation. Obviously a small space will not accommodate a large seating area or an island. A small breakfast bar or table table might just fit though. In a big space, the island and/or seating area could take a big part of the space. Decide which part of the kitchen area you want to commit to seating and work your kitchen around it. Don’t forget storage of course.
Choosing a kitchen type
The three most common and prevalent styles of kitchens are traditional, country and contemporary, although there are several others. One style is not superior to another, but most people have a preference. Which is your favourite? Which would be most appropriate for your family? Many people do not know exactly what they want until they see the products for themselves, so after reading this why not pop into your local kitchen showroom for inspiration.

Planning Permission
A planning application for installing a kitchen is generally not required unless it is part of a house extension.
However, if your property is a listed building you should consult the Local Planning Authority.
Building Regulations
Work to refit a kitchen with new units and fittings does not generally require building regulations approval, although drainage or electrical works that form part of the refit may require approval under the building regulations.
